- Role of the Health & Social Care Worker
- Personal Development
- Communicate Effectively
- Equality & Diversity
- Principles for Implementing Duty of Care
- Principles of Safeguarding in Health & Social Care

Moving and Handling
This training provides all staff members with the opportunity to learn the theoretical and practical aspects of Moving and Handling, and develop an awareness of how risk assessments are created using the ergonomic method. Using demonstrative techniques the learner will learn, practically, how to use Manual Handling equipment safely and effectively. This provides the opportunity for the worker to learn how to use and be able to try mobility aids themselves such as the Hoist and Slide Sheets within a role play environment. This encourages learners to have a better understanding of how the Service Users feel.
Induction to Support Work Course
For those who wish to expand on their previous qualifications and experiences or for those who would prefer to work in the community setting supporting individuals who have Learning Disabilities, we have the Induction to Support Work Course.
This course provides learners with understanding and knowledge of general medication issues. Trainees learn how to read and understand medication labels, how to administer both tablet and liquid medication, how to be aware of possible side affects that can be caused by over the counter medication from the local chemist. Also available sources for professional advice are provided in relation to medication issues.
Other Training Opportunities
There are also other courses that learners may attend which are run externally by the local council, such as the Safeguarding Adults Training and NVQ Level 2/QCF in Health and Social Care. Should learners be interested in doing these courses please contact Harbex at our Head Office.
