Moving and Handling

This training provides all staff members with the opportunity to learn the theoretical and practical aspects of Moving and Handling, and develop an awareness of how risk assessments are created using the ergonomic method. Using demonstrative techniques the learner will learn, practically, how to use Manual Handling equipment safely and effectively. This provides the opportunity for the worker to learn how to use and be able to try mobility aids themselves such as the Hoist and Slide Sheets within a role play environment. This encourages learners to have a better understanding of how the Service Users feel.

Induction to Support Work Course

For those who wish to expand on their previous qualifications and experiences or for those who would prefer to work in the community setting supporting individuals who have Learning Disabilities, we have the Induction to Support Work Course.
